Hello, I'm Alison Shibata, the artist behind Bliss Miniatures. I've worked as a flight attendant, hotel assistant manager, paralegal and owner/baker of a cookie business, the last being the most challenging and rewarding experience of my eclectic resume - until now.
My interest in miniatures has spanned decades, with a preference in creating them more so than collecting. But, my family and working lives didn't allow much quality time to devote to anything requiring artistry. Luckily, an opportunity to research and develop skills did arise when my youngest was about to graduate from high school in 2010. Since I'm also an enthusiastic foodie, it made sense to combine the two interests and focus on sculpting miniature food.
I continue to work and plan to expand subject matter beyond food and experiment in other mediums, as well as polymer clay.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my work!
